after I replaced mine I also replaced the o-rings, fuel filter, air filter, oil filter and oil, cabin air filter, MAF sensor the car was doing fine till started stalling and I took it to a Jag dealer they charged me $115 for a Com. Diagn. and said I got code p0340 which it was to replace the camshaft and crankshaft sensors I paid around $600 for the job two days later I had a code p0430 and they said it is my front Catalytic Converter they stated that the rear is faulty but I only get the code p0430 for the front one so total quote with both to be replaced and tech labor is $2.760 so I decided to to it myself . I have located the parts at $200 each but I am thinking in replacing the front cat only since it is the only code I get with my auto scanner.
Is ther anyone who can describe to me how to do this? and if any pics are attached it'll be much appreciated

Could be the climate system is leaking/excess condensation or the pollen filter housing has water in it.

What kind of spark plugs does everybody use? OEM? or something like E3. I just watched horsepower TV and they did a dyno test that showed more horsepower and better fuel economy using E3s.

After doing a little research it looks like the E3s were unreliable so i bought Bosch Platinum 4+

I guess OEM spark plugs are the best choice.

Alright, I diving into changing the plugs on my 2003 x-type. I think I've done all my homework and am using the Victor Reinz gaskets as some you have. Got my spark plugs gapped and ready to get my hands dirty.

Thank you so much for all of the information. I just replaced my spark plugs and gaskets this morning. I would have no idea what to do if it wasnt for this FAQ. It feels good to do it yourself.

Hey I truly appreciate your post. I started to replace the PCV Valve because was leaking and I found the manifold and brake booster hose were leaky as well that was why I had idle problems anyways I just replaced the spark plugs but I got at the dealership a set of upper and lower gaskets for the manifold but I see only the ones on the picture... the oval ones, the smaller ones has a small elongation by the middle and I dont know where this ones goes. Can you please provide advise on this since you stated upper and lower which ones are upper and lower? and where they are located? Thanks, I greatly appreciate yor help.

Followed these instructions, SUPER helpful. Found insulation on wires on backside coils brittle and coming off. Temporary fix on that, car still had #4 cylinder misfire, swapped coil to cylinder #2, problem followed. Purchased one coil and replaced. New plugs, one new coil and holy crap what a difference performance wise! Love this forum!!!

Much thanks to this write up. It helped significantly.

Here are my plugs at over 156K. Glad I changed them. If it wasn't for the the broken plastic piece of brake booster vacuum hose going down into the intake, I would have likely waited longer.
