Hi, i'll be buying a used car around the summer time and need a little help. I've been doing a lot of research and still don't know what to chose; either an 03' x-type, 03' saab 9-3, or 03' s-type. Please help me make the right choice
Boy, that's a loaded question that has been asked many times on here. In my opinion there is no answer. There are so many variables involved that only you can answer. From your list of cars I am guessing that the price point is a big consideration. My best advice is make a list of what is most impotant to you in the car you uwill buy and then research the pluses and minuses of each. Things like mpg, cost of repairs, do you drive alot in snow, your buget/stomach for repairs, etc. Then when you narrow it down and find acar you are interested in make sure you check it out thoroughly. Have it inspected if you can. That is usually maybe a few hundred dollars, but could be the best, cheapest insurance you ever bought to avoid problems down the road. Worst thing is to buy an X just because it's a Jag and it's cheap. Do your up-front work ahead of time. Any used car is a crapshoot, but if you do things right you can definitely put the odds in your favor that you will get teh right car for you.
qu-way, like was mentioned, what are you looking to get out of the car. If you are after performance, then a 4.0L S-Type will be the way to go. The 3.0L X-Type, while quicker that most cars out there, of the 3 is probably the slowest. If you are after all weather ability, the X-Type will be your best option more than likely. With the S-Type only being RWD, unless you have grown up in snowy areas and have played around a lot, the S-Type is going to be a handful to drive due to lots of power and only 2 wheels pushing. If you are looking to modify the vehicle to get more power out of it, then the Jags are out of the question as upgrades for them are very limited.
LIke I started out with, decide what features are the most important to you and then the answer to your question will more than likely become pretty obvious.
