Default Inner edge tyre wear

Just replaced both fronts on the wifes X Type estate. There was still around 5-6mm of tread on the rest of the tyre but the inside edge was stripped to the wire. We did a short road trip to the Highlands between the Xmas and New year and encountered one or two potholes so I'm putting it down to this The fitting garage aligned the front end which they said was "slightly out". Apparently it doesn't take much to make it go wrong like this. I shall keep an eye on this on a more regular basis in case it's something other............ on a positive note, two Pirellis for £95 each plus VAT

JDT, yes, if the front end toe is out even a little bit (less than 0.1 degrees), it can lead to tire wear like you saw. You will also tend to see the steering wheel wobble back and forth when you get up to speed (60 mph/100 KPH and more).

It sounds like you got things fixed. So, all should be good.
