Default Instrument Gauges.... weird problem

So today, I'm heading to lunch and was rolling pretty good when I meet a cop. I glanced down to see how fast I was going and noticed all the gauge needles were not working. I didn't notice this this morning on my way to work, though they could have been off then too. Everything else was working fine, the odometer, signal indicators, light indicators, just not the needles. Anyway, after lunch, I get in the car start her up and now everything is fine and has been fine all day. So it couldn't have been a blown fuse, though I don't know what could have caused the problem. Good news is, I didn't get pulled over. Anyone else had this issue?

I've also have experienced this problem. I started up my car one day and the needles didn't move. NOTHING . So i turned the car off and then turned it back on and then i started it back up. Then the needles returned to their normal state.

Same thing happened to me in the winter. I soiled my pants, however it started to work again after a restart!
