Default Interchangeable suspension parts

Hi guys, from downunder.
I read a post re a Volvo rear suspension part that fitted our X Types.
Is there a list of other swappable parts for both front and rear suspension, especially with our connections to Volvo and Ford, such as the Front Wishbone and if there is a separate bush available.
Thanks

MussoJag, I am the one that found the Volvo rear suspension arm. In short, the suspension on our car is like this:

Front: Ford Mondeo (aka, Ford Fusion)
Rear: Volvo S40

So, if you can find parts that fit those cars, you should stand a good chance of making things work. I am sure that there will be little oddities here and there that will make it so all parts do not work. BUt, if you are willing to take a chance in buying parts, you can possibly get a good deal.

Hi Thermo, Thanks for this info. We have both cars here in Oz, and I will track the parts down and compare. While my 3.0 AWD is ok, the shockers were getting soft, so we thought we would replace anything that moved and get another 150,000 k's of life that the previous owner enjoyed.
While not in a desperate hurry, I will update you with the outcome.
Thanks again.

Musso, if you are going to try alternate parts, you may want to have a friend with the car that you want to see if the parts will match up. A quick check of length and other dimensions will normally tell you if the parts are going to be compatible or not.

Thanks for tip, but my Volvo friends are gone (I rallied a 144F) and Mondeos are not that common here as they should be, however I will track one of each somewhere. Cheers H
