Apparently an X Type is quicker off the mark than a 3.8L E Type

I find that 6.2 seconds 0-60 is very optimistic at best. Factory rating for the 3.0 liter manual was 6.6 seconds. I had one of those and while the performance was certainly adequate, I would subjectively not put if it as that quick. Now, I have no evidence of that other than comapring it to other cars I have owned, but then again all that site says it takes times from "credible sources" and averages them together. So, take that for what it is worth. Although I never felt my car was underpowered, like pretty much everyone else on here I wished it was quicker.

I found it a bit strange - would have though an E Type was a bit lighter than an X Type for a start

If it is taking numbers from a credible source and averaging them that would mean some cars were even quicker, the mind boggles.
