jaguar x-type '07 A/C problem
I have a '07 X-type and the A/C blows only hot air. I took it to a mechanic and he filled the A/C system up with freon. For 3-4 days it was working fine and then again it blew only hot air. Took it to the mechanic again and he inserted fluorescent liquid into the A/C system to find a possible leakage but no leakage was visible around the engine and anywhere under the front hood of the car. The mechanic said that the refrigerant was functioning well and he suggested to try and find the leakage behind the console of the car. Where could the leakage be?
Can the car be damaged by removing the console? Thanks

Your post is a little confusing. If the mechanic did not have to replace the refrigerant on your second trip to him then Dell's post is spot on for the cooling problem.
If the mechanic found no refrigerant and had to replace it again and there are no apparent leaks under the hood then you may possibly have a leak in the A/C evaporator under the dash. A refrigerant sniffer can isolate it to the evaporator if the system is running and fan setting is on LOW.
Removing the dash to access the evaporator is tedious with a lot of connectors and things to keep track of but it is very doable. The key is taking your time and making sure each and every connection is secure as you reassemble.

Continuing along Vern's train of thought, if you're losing Freon and searching for the leak, remove the right front tire and plastic liner inside that wheel well. This exposes the Freon drier / accumulator tank and 2 Freon lines from the compressor in the engine compartment, to the evaporator under the dash. These lines have several connections to inspect for leaks.
Presumably your mechanic already checked the condenser for leaks - in front of the radiator where it's in the line of fire for highway debris.
