Clicking noise after going through puddle?
Yesterday we got some rain and when I was getting close to home, I went through a puddle I saw at the last minute. I couldn't avoid it and went through it at about 15 mph. Nothing happened to the car, so I didn't think nothing of it until this morning when I was driving to work I heard what sounds like a clicking noise coming from the engine. the car drives fine, just that noise. So could the puddle have caused it or is it something else?

Do X-Types have rubber boots around the CV joint on each front wheel? If so, are your boots torn and could the water have penetrated, flushed the lub off and now you joints are making noise?

pab, yes, there are rubber boots around the CV joints on our cars (all 4 wheels). So, it is possible like you said that the boot is torn and now the grease is gone. It may be just that something got knocked loose and is now making contact as the car moves due to the air pushing say a hose back and forth in the breeze.
