Sevren, the words "not likely" come to mind, but never say never.

By " x-type (all) " to you mean all different series of the x-type. or all jaguars with x in it ? such as an XJ ?? I kind of need front brake pads and possibly rotors.

Thanks, Victor.

If not its fine, I more or less posted just to be subscribed to the thread. A few weeks from now I'll have to place an order for an Air filter, Fuel filter, Front pads and possibly rotors. Thanks

solidx - Yep, we are up in Roswell. Come by anytime. These are OEM rotors and pads. 99% of what we deal with is OEM parts. Sometimes we'll have an aftermarket part or two that we'll run on special.

StrateLoss - The rotors I'm talking about are specific to the X-Type model, and does not apply to all models with an X in the name. Otherwise, it would be all Jaguars. Let me know when you are ready to order your parts.

Thanks!

Clear something up for me. You deal with Jaguar parts, so I thiink you would be the one to ask. What is the deal with Jaguar transmissions, do they use a regular trans fluid or are they filled with Hydraulic fluid. Also whats the deal with changing the fluid which ever it is. I just became a Jaguar owner in November of 09. I bought a 02 x-Type 2.5. with 87000 miles. I've read a lot of nightmare stuff about the trans of the 02 x-type. I am a heavy equipement machanic and been doing cars and trucks for over 40 years.

Here at the dealership, we only use the original OEM Jaguar ATF for the X-Type. I've heard rumblings of a cheaper Castrol alternative, but for warranty purposes on an expensive transmission, we're bound to using the factory stuff. If you search around on here, you can find info on the alternative fluid.

As far as flushes, replacing the fluid, etc... we honestly don't do it, as it does not fall within the factory guidelines. We're bound by their rules. Believe me when I say that a flush would be much more convenient (and a much easier sell than a $5000 transmission), but that's the road map that Jag has laid out for us.
