Hey guys i am fairly new to the forum and i just wanted to say i just got my 05 Jaguar X-Type today. It is Silver with Cream Leather interior. It only has 16,450 miles on it. This is my first Jag and i LOVE the car so far. I was wondering though as far as scheduled maintenance goes. I know there is the intervals the manual and dealer tell you. But what else should i do and how often should it be done? I figure with the low miles if i keep up with regular maintenance the car should be great and trouble free for the most part.

Oh snap i gotta get my plugs changes... I know the gapping isnt at oem spec anymore. If only the rear 3 werent such a pain to get to

Thanks, Actually i have another question for you guys. What tires do you recommend for the 225/45/17 size? I am pretty sure the tire was fine when i got the car yesterday, but on my way home i hit a pothole that wasn't very friendly and VERY hard to see. Well anyway while washing the car today i noticed a bubble in the sidewall of the passenger rear tire i think the pothole is probably to blame but then again i may not have noticed it when looking over the car. I am now looking at tires for the car, but i am thinking i may end up trying to find 2 used tires of the same type for a bit cheaper for now and then look for something new closer to winter that will do good all year round in snow and out of snow. I wish the Goodyear Assurance TripleTreads were available. My parents have them on their Jetta and my buddy has them on his BMW 540i and they both love them but apparently they aren't made in that size. Well enough of the rambling, if you have any suggestions on tires you have found that you like please let me know.

I love the continentals there decent in weather conditions, Never had much of a traction problem...with the AWD and all

 

I was very angry. I washed the car and it LOOKS AMAZING. I will try to take some pictures of it here in a little bit.

 

I think the Continentals are pure ****!..worse tire I have ever had..

I can recommend Kumho ECSTA ASX..for the money, you can't find a better tire for wear, quiet, and handling/grip

I replaced my 17 inch Continentals with Yokohama AVID HS4's. Priced almost as cheap as Kumhos - they scored a bit better in Tire Rack's testing. They're very quiet and have excellent grip.

Got the Conti Sport 2's on the A6 and they seem a pretty decent all round tyre.
For me though it has to be Pirelli's...........had them on nearly all my cars over the last ten years or so and done probably 600,000 miles on Pirelli's all told. Great in the wet, good balance of grip and wear and fairly quiet too..........personally, I love em.

With tyres though.............all done to personal taste.

Well since i need tires. I am looking at wheels and tires on ebay. I like the 17" wheels that came on the sport model and found a set of 4 with Fuzion HRi tires on them. The tires are like new. The wheels came off a car with 60k miles on it so they have some road rash, not a ton but some. But the price they are at right now on ebay is like buying the tires and getting the wheels for free. So i can't lose.

I would also like to add the CD Changer to the car.
