Hi

I have 2 key fobs for my x type Jag and one stopped working i did the usual changed the battery but is still refused to work, so i had a key fob sent off for repair, it came back and i tried to reprogram it but it just does not reprogram (I have done this a few times so i know how to reprogram the fob. How ever the key will open the door and lock the doors and will set the alarm (But only with the key) I got back in contact with the repair guy and told him this, However this is where i need help, he told me there is a chip in the top part of the fob as well as in the bottom part that contains the battery? and he said i had to get that reset first? is this true because i can not find anything about there being a chip in the top half of the fob where the key flip is???

There is a transponder in the key section of the fob but if it is starting the car it is fine.

It must be the bottom part of the Key Fob then that is not working? the part that was said to be repaired...
