Default Key fob

I have a 2007 X-Type. All doors lock and unlock with the key when you do it through the drivers door, however will not unlock or lock using the remote. So far I have replaced the battery, then the circuit board in the key fob, check the spring loaded flap in the ignition and tried numerous times to recode it, I get the beeps to suggest it has been successful but it still doesn’t work. Last week after reading a thread I removed the RF unit and sprayed it with electrical contact cleaner still no success.

I am now out of ideas so any suggestions would be great fully accepted

Welcome to the forums ghowat,

I've copied the question from your Intro to X-Type forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Hi, so you did the key in position 1 to 2, 4 times. Take key out, press any button, then do you get a tone again. I bought a replacement circuit board from ebay and it was american spec, I think. So didnt work, found out had to press both lock and unlock buttons and something else, (on forum somewhere) then repeat first process and it worked. Worth a try if you haven't . Good luck
