I sure hope you were honest to the buyer about your problem car. That's the reason I'm trading my wife's problem 03 Legacy (paint peel from 5 weeks old, on its 3rd manual tranny rebuild at 42k, 3rd premium disc changer, and has spent more time than every other car I've owned combined at the dealer) in to a dealer. I can't sell it to a private party.

At least his Toyota won't speed out of control and kill a bunch of people. Hopefully he does not buy a newer one.

That would be the right thing to do.

But some people don't do the right thing, that might be why he got that one. That was no good from the factory to begin with. It's funny about people who work in the factory's, if they have a good day there work is great, but if they had a fight with the wife that morning or the boss is buging them , all the things they do that day becomes crap. The people who buy the stuff there making are the people who get the crap. Just my view, anyone agree....:-)

this vince guy must of grew up in my "era" so to speak! I would love to have an old toyota to cruz around with or a classic baby window VW bug, yah! Ive owned a sweet sounding datsun 510 back in HS that would blow the paint off my jaguar oh i wish i had it till this day. If i had a opportunity to buy an old all original datun 510 from a granny that drives no more then 30mph with low miles and i had no funds i really would give up my jag just to bring back my youth. Jaguars are dime a dozen you cant find to many "my era" cars anymore. GOD I FEEL OLD NOW.

I wonder what year his X was. 2001-2003 were the X-type's teething years due to low quality control..

Its not that the X-Type is so bad. I owned a BMW 320i and it was always at the dealer, problem after problem. My neighbor owns an AUDI 3.0 and every month for a week I have to give him a lift to work. Always broken down. The only major breakdown on my 2002 X-type 2.5l Auto was a leaking/holed coolant hose which I replaced myself in 10 minutes. What I want to say is there is no good car. All cars have their problems.

Good bye, I know from your history here that you will join a Corolla Forum or a whatever you end up buying forum and will post endlessly about the troubles with your current car. You won't actually offer anything back to the forum as I did a quick search here and except for 1 post where you offered advise, all your other posts were whining about your car or asking advise from the people here.

Jim is being kind and generous as he always is, but seriously dude, throw something back, look at life as a bank account. You can't withdraw forever if you don't make the odd deposit.
