Question Leak while refueling

I know it's not recommended but for the time I have had my XType, whenever I go for a long drive i "drip feed" the fuel right up to the filler. I haven't had any issues doing this for a couple of years, however today I found fuel leaking when I did it.
Needless to say I won't drip feed anymore - however I am worried about the leak - have I broken something? Is this a sign that the fuel system is now open to the atmosphere when it shouldn't be?

Should I repair anything or will it be enough not to drip feed in the future...?

Almost certainly the rubber hose from fuel neck to gas tank. Mine never leaked fuel but developed a vapor leak causing an evap failure. Had to get it replaced to pass emissions about 2-3 months after cutting seat pan hole to replace my fuel pump. Ex Jag tech import owned repair place found it doing a smoke test. $50 part, $650 labor, smfh

Thanks for the confirmation - I'll get it looked at at the next service.

Clack, it is not advisable to fill it up that full as you are pushing fuel all the way up to the purge valves in the engine bay. Due to heat and whatnot, this can cause the purge valve to start leaking, leading to P045X codes (fuel system not able to maintain a vacuum, where the X is going to be a number relative to the size of the leak). Doing this once in awhile is not that bad. But, to routinely do it will lead to issues long term. Do not ask how I figured this one out. If I can get a few more miles out of every tank..........
