Default A little help

Good day all,
I need a little help. I have a 2002 Jaguar X type with a dead battery and on one side of the hood the latch is not working. Any help on how I can get the hood open

Welcome to the forum Dolfan14,

I've moved your question from Lower Atlantic Region to X-Type forum.

Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Dolfan, we run across this problem periodically. What you are going to need to do is to use a torx bit and remove the tray that goes on the underside of the engine/radiator. This will give you room to reach up with a stick or long screw driver. From there, the side that is sticking, you can use the stick or screwdriver to move the lever that opens the latch. From there, you will be able to open the hood. Just make sure to pull the latch out and give it a good lube and figure out why it is not pulling open. Hate to see you have to do this every time you need to open the hood.
