Default Looking for bushing sizes

I installed the adjusable volvo c30 upper control arm modification on my x types 2 years ago...
using these parts
http://www.ebay.ie/itm/310926522429?ul_ref=http%253A%252F%252Frover.ebay. com%252Frover%252F0%252Fe11050.m43.l1123%252F7%253 Feuid%253D78df3bb92d124f9e9f854c53d8bb0f6a%2526bu% 253D43225550178%2526loc%253Dhttp%25253A%25252F%252 52Fwww.ebay.ie%25252Fulk%25252Fitm%25252F310926522 429%2526sojTags%253Dbu%253Dbu%2526srcrot%253De1105 0.m43.l1123%2526rvr_id%253D0&ul_noapp=true
due to excessive camber wearing out tyres.
The bushings didn't last long...30.000 miles.
anyway has anyone changed the bushings/have sizes availabile as they are not standard sized oem parts.
or are theyof a uniform design..i would like to fit polybrushed bushes as the old rubber ones only lasted 30.k. joke
anyone any advice..id rather not change the whole arm again as it was expensive.
thanks guys

If the bushings were shot after 30K miles either you have beyond unbelievably bad roads, something else wring with the suspension or maybe something with the install was not correct. Those should last much longer than that Can't say that I have heard anyone else that has done that replacement complain about those arms wearing out prematurely like that.

Sorry if you took offense as that was not my intention and I was not trying to lecture you. Just seems odd that something like that which you would think would last a lot longer than 30K miles would wear out that quickly. Didn't want you to go through all that work and have it happen again that's all.

Default ok thanks

Suspension is fine..its been checked and alligned...just heavy use and milage. ..500 miles a week commute
the bushes are more expensive than the complete arm so its probably cheaper to just replace them

Silly question but when you installed the bushings did you torque the bolts with the weight of the car on the wheels?
If the car was in the air when you lower it the bushings will be stressed.

ask me how i know

Default up in the air

I torqued the mount bolts in the air...defo..little or ni room to torque otherwise
sat it on its wheels...then raised and lowered it 5 times adjusting the camber with the big nuts.. .and then locked it down. ..had 4 wheel aligned. .the technician was impressed with my by eye measurements. He said no need to get it done
what's your thinking on this

the car was in the air on axel stands...i used a 4 ton jack to compress the hub up to take the weight off the components while i worked on it...i remember because i was terrified of the compressed spring😂

Ah, you've just explained it!

The springs would actually be somewhere between 35-45% compressed with the tires mounted and on the ground. Too high up, the bushings will wear much more quickly, although the suspension would be nice and tight.

Poly bushes in that size will be almost as much as the arms, unfortunately...although dropping 80 or so for 30,000 miles isn't that horrible...much cheaper than tyres!

Yeah ill probably just replace the arms and torque it on the ground this time...
it has 9 months nct left on it (irish comprehensive roadworthy test ).the tyres on the back are 50 percent now so ill leave until the test and see what
Their machines say the bushes are out by.
maybe replacement then when and if they fail outside of specs. .
Thanks lads..wealth information as always.

I have been asking for someone's old lower arm so that I can source the bushings. One of my cars is in need of one and I hate to have it off the road as I work the bushing fab out. It's just toooo much fun to drive.

Priceing of the bushing should be around $10 to $30 from talking with the manufacturers.

Front rear lowers? Just ordered a set from Barratt.

Local shop showed rubber bushings as about $17 each, new arms were $48 shipped for the pair.
