Love
Aruba wheels and balanced look to the design
Thumb wheels on the steering wheel for the sound system and cruise control. Very clever!
Carbon fiber/alcantara (I'm not a big wood guy)
Performace with the 3.0 liter manual in summer AND AWD for a Wisconsin winter!

Hate/Love Less
Weak orange color to the gauge indicators when the lights are on. Should have a stronger backlight to them, They look washed out
Cheap LCD displays. For a couple dollars more they could have put something in there that looks better, Not the best place for a cost compromise in my opinion.
Weak design of electronic door locks

Other than that I love the car. To me it is just a great looking design. I love leaving work and seeing it waiting for me as I walk up to it, especially when it is clean and it's sunny out. Had the car about about 8 months and 12000 miles and one winter and I still enjoy getting in it every day.

My last X-Type was a 2.5 manual and I averaged around 25 mpg. My current is a 3.0 manual and I'm getting over 30 mpgs.

Ok here goes at the risk of being called "sexist"! My X's Pros/Cons:
Pro:
1)She's a woman, curvy and beautiful.
2)She's comfortable, and well appointed
3)She's got power, measured though and 4wd!
Cons:
1)She's demanding for maintenance due to short sighted engineering.
2)Plastic parts fail quickly!
3)Too few of them sold to have the after market parts others have.... however rarity is always nice too

Likes
(1) Heated seats. luv em!
(2) thumb wheel music controls on the steering!
(3) Wood appointments inside look really nice compared to the cheap looking competition.
(4) Eye catching styling, and rare compared to the number of bimmers/lex/benz all over the place.
(5) get the 09 grill! Its like having a new car, seriously.

Dislikes
(1) Under powered. Not a big deal because I didnt buy it to race from light to light.
(2) I will eventually upgrade suspension to something a little firmer (too bouncy).
(3) back lights arent very stylish, and I think the arden conversion looks tacky.

Not sure how big the clubs and bags are, but I routinely am able to fit at least two sets in the trunk without putting down the seat.

Stunna, 30 MPG with a 3.0 liter? Is that according to the display or did you actually measure when you fill up? Is that overall driving or on a highway cruise? Either one I would be very skeptical.

The measurements for my 3.0 sport were using the trip computer for the 3k miles I've had the car. My 2.5's 25ish mpg figure was averaged while owning the car 50k miles and I followed the trip computer after doing math on multiple occasions yielding the same result. Ill do the math on the next couple tankfuls and let you know what I get with my 3.0 but I'd say 75% of the time my trips are less than 8 miles with half that being 35 mph speed zone.

I cant even fit 2 bags in my S Type with the woods and driver still in the bag. Granted I have more clubs in my bag than PGA rules, but still.

Stunna, I would be very interested to hear what you mpg is measuring it by the miles you drove vs. the gas put in. I know my display is off about 2mpg or so. If you are getting 30 in the way you are driving my hat's off to you. The best I can get when mostly city driving is about 24 and that's not gunning it, doing skip shifts and being in 5th as much as possible. I'm not a fanatic about the mpg, but if there is anything I could do to improve it I'm all ears.
