Default Low/High Beam lights and installment.

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and as you may know I just purchased a 2002 jaguar x-type 3.0, fully loaded. I love the car, I honestly didn't know how great the feel of driving this car was. Anyways, lets get to the point :P

My question is regarding to the low and high beams (lights), are they both the same bulbs? Mine are D2S 35W HID for the low beams, but I haven`t gotten through to the high beams yet (they haven`t died).

The other question I have relates to installing them. I`ve been having issues with turning the clip to attach the bulb piece to the lamp. This is my step by step take on how I installed the bulb (maybe I`m doing something wrong).

1. Remove old bulb.
2. Connect circular clip clockwise onto the bulb holder (don`t know what that piece is called)
3. Install bulb, turn clockwise
4. Attempt to connect piece to the lamp.

Or, is step 2 and 3 supposed to switch? I attempted to do that but the clip does not reach to the bulb holder piece as the bulb is too high up (tried to press down firmly and turn, but I suppose that`s not the proper way)

Sorry about my long conflict, I`m just trying to be as specific as possible.

Thanks guys.

Fezz, welcome to the forums. I think you will find a lot of very knowledgeable people around here. We are a friendly group and like to get to know one another. So, don't forget to stop by the "New Member" area and do an introduction. I think you will find it very beneficial and will atleast let you know who the movers and shakers are around here.

As for the bulbs. You have the HID low beams (the british call them dip beams). But your high beams are standard halogen 55W bulbs (H1's as I recall). So, you are dealing with 2 different style bulbs.

I wish I could help you out with the HID bulbs but I have been fortunate to this point to not have to mess with my HID bulbs in the headlights. I have installed HIDs into the fog lights and that makes a world of a difference. Hopefully someone else will be stopping by shortly and will be able to help you out.

Default Help with Lights

I have just recently bought a 2002 X-Type and I noticed that the high beams were the HID, I wanted to know if there is a good kit to change over the high beams and fog lights. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Check my posting on one of your other posts regarding this question. I gave you step by step actions that will be needed to make what you want, happen. In short, fog lights will be easy if you take a little bit of time before hand. High beams, you are doing wiring modifications any which way you look at it.
