Default lower radiator hose (plastic clamp)

Hello. I own a 2003 Jaguar X-Type. Over the past weekend, I put in a radiator. I got all the way to the end, but I came to this hose that is giving me trouble. It is the lower radiator hose going from the engine block to the radiator. I have the car up on stands, and the hose is accessible. The only problem I am running into is this: The end of the hose has a plastic piece, with a small metal clip, that can be pulled out. I have never seen a plastic fitting on the end of a hose before, and I don’t know the mechanics of fastening the hose. This seems very easy, but I simply don’t know how to get the hose to stay on. Afte putting the hose unto the nipple of the radiator, I am able to put the pin into two grooves, on the side of the plastic piece. It clicks, and everything seems to be good. When I start the car, it is perfect while idling, but when I rev the engine, the pressure pushes the hose off of the radiator. Please, can you help?
