here's my problem, serious snow and ice, in traffic for 3 hrs. normally a 1/2 hour drive. car frickin handles awesome, one of the best cars ever in snow, and I owned a landy disco. so here's the problem, switch climate control from auto to defrost just before I pull up my drive way, the lights go dim and car slightly hesitates, turn defroster off high, back to regular ,manual, maybe middle fan, rev car, nothing, pull car into garage, switch back to defrost high and rev motor in park, lights dim for just a second then back to normal, once back to normal. mid fan, rev car nothing... so any car I owned in the past this was a belt slipping on the alternator or the voltage regulator in the alternator was going bad. any ideas? 02 sport, 65k sport. as always, thanks, Bill

 

maybe a cracked battery or battery dying .. or sometimes the positive cable right off the battery melts causing resistance,. i wud check those 2 things

 

a melted battery cable? really? dealer only part?

 

Yes dealer part. Look at the negative terminal first like Genius said. See if there is a little crack somewhere around it.

 

can't find a battery online, or the cable. man what the fudge? are all these things dpo?
