So found a person who can use thier mastercard for me, now the question is should i get the mesh inserts, wich ill go with black powder coat, or the 09 grille which ill paint the interior mesh black. Whats your guys opinion and perference. I know a few have done it on here, and th 09 looks amazing

 

Just ordered the 09 grille for the XJ.
Wouldnt paint it though.

 

for the x type, you can have it painted to matcht he car, apparently u have to have it painted or they don't send it or something. Im talking about the mesh inside of the actaull housing, i saw manyefresh's and it look wicked.

 

I know, having had one on my X type it sthe surround that you paint and the mesh is pre painted
Problem is if you try and paint the already painted mesh there are lots of v joins in the mesh where the paint can run and collect which is why I presume it comes pre painted.
Good luck if you go for it as I havent seen one before a different colour from factory chrome effect

 

I personally dont like the 09 grill. Id get the slandered mesh in black. I think the 09 grill looks best without a leaper, if you have a leeper thats like having double of something you dont need. IMO

 

I would have to agree, the 09 definitely would look better without the leaper. That's why I went with the black older style mesh for mine.

 

Never really seen the 09 grille with the leaper as nearly all cars over here in UK dont have leapers

 

see thats what im debating, the bandge looks good, and im wondering if i should go with the mesh inserts and keep it simple. But then again the 09 grille looks sweet and the leaper would make it better lol, kinda contradicting but whatever.

 

Im swapping my mesh for an 09 grille on mine...still think it will look better even with the Mina Gallery (silver coloured) bumper mesh grille.
I'll post a pic as soon as I fit it as its similar looking car/design to the X Type

hmmm this is a otught one, i could go with the black powder coated mesh insert witht he chrome, which i think may look nice, or go with the new one, all black except the badge and make it look mean.
