I have a 2002 xtype. I was driving down the freeway and the check engine light started flashing with the no cruise light. The car sounds like a motorcycle all of the sudden. I will be looking up codes later, just wondering if anyone knows what the problem could be.

 

I just pulled codes p0305 missfire #5, p1313 Catalyst Damage Fault - Bank 1, p0420 catalyst efficiency below threshold bank 1.

I guess my new question is what catalytic converter do I buy?(I see some for $90 and some for $700) How much will this cost if I take it to the dealership?

 

Sounds more to me like you need to investigate the coil pack and spark plug on cylinder #5.

 

Yup, the #5 cyl is cause, the cat converter is the effect.
