Default My 2003 X-Type Does not like the Cold. (help)

alright its a 2003 X-Type 2.5

It just turned 70,000 its about 70,048

Reason I made this thread is because I came to work late this morning. Whenever winter comes the car simply has trouble cutting on.

This morning I've tried to cut it on for 40 minutes so you can imagine how many key turns that was. Then, finally it cut on. Then it's fine.

Any help to what the main problem could be. Some mornings its easier, some cut on front the get go. Well this morning it was the coldes around 28 Degrees. It wouldnt start for nothing. Durring summer or when it's not cold it has no problems cutting on.

Any help would be appriciated. I want to drive this baby into ground so I want to take care of it as much as I possibly can.

What do you mean by 'cutting on?'
Are you having difficulty with cold starts?
In which case a cold start sensor... or even a wire come adrift... sounds like the culprit.
These problems always sound serious when it is your own car, but I suspect it is something relatively simple.
When you had your 70,000 mile service (you have had this done haven't you?) were the spark plugs changed... these are exceedingly longlife platinum plugs and are changed at 70,000miles... this could be the source of your problem.

Hey Mike,

Thank you for your input. Yeah I meant cold start. I haven't done the 70,000 Mile Service yet. I like to fix stuff on my own and I just haven't gotten around. I was also thinking Spark Plugs, so I'll probably be changing them out this weekend.

One more question, what else should I be Servicing at 70,000 miles?

Again, thanks a lot for your help.

sounds like sensor is failing only on cold weather, like the crank or one of the cam sensors.
