My new key won't pair
I bought a new key and ignition for my Jaguar 2001 X-Type.
The car has been off for a while so I bought a new battery. When I started the car it was in emergency mode and the key will not pair! The red light in the middle keeps flashing etc. I was hoping to do it on my own before I have to call a specialist.
Please help!

You can pair a remote/key fob to the vehicle yourself:
1. insert the key into the ignition
2. turn key to position "I"
3. turn key to position "II" and back to "I" quickly 4 times
4. the alarm will chime once when the key is back in position "I" for the fourth time
5. remove the key from the ignition
6. press any button on each key fob and the alarm will chime for correctly paired remote (all remotes MUST be paired at the same session)
7. press lock/unlock etc to make sure everything works
You can't program a new key without dealer level Jaguar SDD Symptom Driven Diagnostics)
