Need New Battery For My 02 XType
I'm in the process of getting My X-Type back on the road after almost a year of it not being driven due to A " Thrown Rod " ... I've Purchased A New Engine & My Mechanic has Completed the Engine Swap , but is Now Having Problems starting the car through the Key ... He Says I Need A New Battery & I Have No Idea Where To Start ... Any Help Would Be Much Appreciated ! Thanks in Advance.

The above basically says two people make batteries and everyone else puts their own stickers on them, so price is mainly affected by the duration of the warranty

Jaccie, what you want to look for is a battery called a "Type 94R". Type 94R is like asking for a AA battery, or a 9V battery.
To summarize the above links by Santer, there are really only 2 battery manufacturers in the US (Exide and Johnson Controls). So, the only difference between say a $100 battery from Walmart and a $400 battery from say Sears is the warrantee that comes with it. The internals of the battery came off the same line and therefore from a performance point of view, both batteries will act exactly the same. The question becomes how much of a warrantee do you want.
