MPonce, welcome to the group. You will find lots of information here with all your questions.

As for upgrading the navi system to what you are looking for, I think you are going to find this a bit more involved that you realize. This isn't a simple pull out the unit in the dash and slap in the new unit and all is done. You are looking at having to replace the rear changer for the navi (DVD) player, new unit in the dash, all the GPS controls, updating the wiring harness, etc. Impossible, no, lots of interior removal, yes. You may find it a bit more economical to simply upgrade to an aftermarket navi unit and forgo the bluetooth option (unless part of the aftermarket unit).

If you are still willing to give it a try, I would check with http://www.waltandverns.com. They are a group out of western Washington that has a lot of parts sitting on the shelves. They should have all the parts that you are after and will have them at a pretty decent price. You can try looking on e-bay, but I think all that you are going to find is the headunit itself, not the complete system (ie, harness, headunit, GPS unit, navi player, etc). You can also try looking at the local wrecking yards and see what they have. You may get lucky. If not, most of the yards are on a common network and will be able to have shipped in any part that you could possibly need.

Please also keep in mind that the navi unit has the A/C controls built into it (atleast mine does). So, this may pose a bit of a problem when trying to get everything wired up and is going to add just one more layer of complication to the modification.

I wish you luck. If you need some diagrams, let me know. I can get you some (up to 2004) and the newer years should be pretty close.

the 05 i have now has the nav system already... the 03 i had before did not. I asked my good friend that works on Jags, how do i go about putting a factory nav in the 03 when i first got it. He replied "trade it in for an X-Type that already has it". He was right.
