Hey catdaddy.......re the gear knob, try googling it or Ebay is always a good source too.
Cabin air smell probably means that the previous owner has had the a/c turned off too long......This leads to bacteria and funghi build up and you'll probably find that you will crack that problem with an a/c flush.

Bojangles hit on the head with the A/C. Go back to the dealer and complain.
Is the smell only when you have the A/C on or even with hot air.
but i dont think it because of the cabin filter, and an A/C flush will help but its probably moldy. Maybe the car was onanother dealers lot before this dealer bought it?
For the shifter check Ebay, the only problem with new shifters are that they wont be the same color as your dash cause the sun has changed the original color. My shifter is way lighter than the wood, its noticable but i dont care that much, ITS A SHIFTER.

For the Cd changer there should be an area in the truck on the drivers side that opens up where the CD changer and wiring should go.

let me know how the A/C thing goes with the dealer.

2. Head lamp washers maybe ?!? ( a pic would help)

3. Running the heater will kill the bacteria. Spray some A/C freshner on the Cabing filter with the A/c on.

Good point! These Jags are just as cheap as so many Fords, Nissans, Mazdas, etc. Plus, the pimp factor of the Jag is a huge plus!

You could get a taurus cheaper but hey you can't compare a taurus to the x! There were knobs on ebay that look just like the one you speak of on jagxp, except a bit cheaper when I get a chance I'll look, gotta comment back for now though!

I've never driven the manual! What do you have to push to put in reverse? Any pics?

I think it's for auto considering top of the figure under chinese script .Besides there are two buttons on it and normally you wouldn't use a button when you shift up/down .
