newbie with problems (wont rev over 3000 rpm
Hi guys new to the forum
i have a 2001 2.5 xtype that wont rev over 300o rpm
i have fitted a new pcv hose previously when this fault happened and it cured the fault,
ive checked the hose again and all is ok i have also checked for vacuum leaks on the brake booster hose and the intake flaps on the end of the manifold and all tested ok can any other problems other than vacuum leaks cause this running issue
thanks in advance
Gav

MOndeo, it may be that you have a leak on either the upper or lower intake manifold gaskets. Granted, for it to be putting you into the restricted performance mode, you should also have the Check Engine Light on too. KNowing what code is coming up will help to either confirm that it is a vacuum leak or if there is something else going on. Tell us the code(s) and we can then help give you more detailed information. Right now it can be too many things.
