Default No heat still. Please help

Hello guys. Been trying to get my heat working. Getting cold out there. Need it badly. Took it to a mechanic they said they tested the blend doors and they appear to all be working ?? The scanner came up with codes for every blend door but like they said they tested the blend doors and they say that they seem to all be working. They said it might be a clogged heater core. But they don’t do back flushes of heater cores there. So before I take it to a different mechanic I’d like to hear your advice on this issue. I’m attaching a picture of the mechanics receipt. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thx.

NYCJAG, I guess I am a bit confused by the fact that you are getting pretty much every blend door code there is, yet the mechs are saying that the blend doors function properly. This would somewhat lead me to believe that the control panel therefore must be toast. Now, with that being said, before we go about replacing a control panel, I still feel that you have a clogged heater core. Have you even flushed it? A check that you can try is with the motor cold, locate the 2 heater core hoses. Now, start the car and let it idle up to temp (or near). Now, reach down and feel these 2 hoses. They should both be pretty warm. If you have one that is hot and the other that is warm at best, then you have a clogged heater core. The only other check I can think of is to drain the coolant, disconect the hoses and try to blow some air through the heater core. Any resistance, the core is being blocked.

From what the mechanic told me. He removed the glove box and lower kick panel. And saw the doors working properly. I’m not sure. But they’re was a few greasy fingerprints on the glove box. And I needed to snap the front of the kick panel back on in the front. As far as the panel being bad. All the vents change as far as defrost. Face. Floor etc. recirculation button works too. I hear a big change in airflow when pressed. Just no hot air. I’m gonna make an appointment on Monday to back flush the heater core. And other info or advice before then would be great. Thx again

Strange that your mechs confined their initial work to the blend doors (perhaps influenced by codes?). Even if blend doors were misbehaving, this would not prevent heat being generated . . . just that it would be subdued or, more likely, directed to incorrect outlets.

Codes suggest blend control issues and Chris (Thermo) gives sound advice. +1, but let's get the basics right . . . producing heat!

Sounds a smart plan to now undertake what should have been as the first steps . . . (1) to prove the correct operation of the solenoid control valve of available heated coolant at firewall fittings, and (2) to prove that the in-cabin flow of heated coolant is flowing freely through all pipes, hoses, heater core etc. This will involve back-flushing then forward-flushing to ensure a good flow . . . or replace the clogged parts!

Cheers,

Just got back from the mechanic. Need a new heater core. Going back next Wednesday. They already ordered an aftermarket heater core. 4 hours labor. Plus the new core and coolant $550 bux. I’ll update after it’s done. Thx to all for helping out.
