no more x-types
I have a '07 x-type that I bought in '09. My certified Jaguar warranty is good until 2/13. I can't see owning any make car without a warranty. Did anyone get an extended warranty from Jag after the first expired? Cost? I would love to get another 2 year old certified x-type when this warranty runs out but........no more x-types. Jack

pophen, since there are no more X-Types, then I guess you will need to step up to the XF or possibly an XJ. I think you will find that getting a few year old Jag is going to be well worth the money.
As for maintaining a warrantee on the vehicle, I personally don't worry about it. I say this for 2 reasons:
1) I like to do all my own work and by the time the major stuff is needed, any warrantee is long gone. If it hasn't broken in the first 36K miles, it probably won't
2) I tend to modify my vehicles. The warrantee guys don't like that. So, I end up having to fix it myself anyways. So, I save that money for more and bigger mods.
Now, if you aren't someone that likes to work on your own vehicles, an option that I would recommend is simply putting away say $100-200 a month for as long as you own the car. That is effectively what you are doing if you get one of those extended warrantees. This way, should the car break, you have a fun to get it repaired and if you don't use that money, you have a nice downpayment on a newer vehicle.
