08 reg x Type 2.0 diesel. Intermittant fault, speedo reads zero, wipers stop, management light comes on, main beam light comes on, glow plug light flashes, engine runs very rough below about 2,000revs. Then for no reason fault clears and may not return for hours, days or weeks.

What started all these probs.
did some one work on the car?
have you had the battery off recently?
Or did it just start for no reson?
Does it only happen in wet wether or bumpy roads?
what have you checked so far.

 

Not had work done, first time it happened was about 8 months after I bought it, (Used) dealers warranty had run out.
Local specialist garage had a look at it but since the problem had cleared by the time I got to him he was unable to find anything, although he said there was a list of warnings that had come up, nothing seemed to point to anything specific. It has happened twice since first time it was raining hard but this last time it was dry, both time on motorway once at 50 mph in road works then 75 on clear road. Both times it keeps clearing then coming back but after a coule of days just goes away completely. Another thing that seems to happen before the lights start to appear, accelerating through the gears, when I take my foot off to change, the revs rise noticable for a second before dropping back. Within a few minutes of this happening the main problems appear.
