Hello all - First Happy Holidays.
I have a 2004 XType 3.0, my engine light came on about a month ago and it turned out one issue was the water pump needed repair (was not getting heat). I also was and still am getting a hissing noise while driving. With that said my engine light just came on again yesterday and my mechanic said he feels it needs an upper and lower intake manifold runner kit for the o rings. I thought I saw somewhere that this is an issue and some type of kit was available Any ideas or thoughts would be much appreciated.
Also getting a buzzing noise from under the hood when I turn it off. Any thoughts on this.
I purchased the car over the summer and I need help on the mechanics.

Go to your local auto parts store and ask them for the upper and lower intake gasket sets for the same year Lincoln LA with a 3.0l motor. If you do some looking around, the Fed pro gasket part numbers are posted here. Granted, I would be starting with replacing the imt valve o-rings as these fail more often than the intake gaskets.

 

Oh yeah, the buying noise that you are hearing is normal. It is the fuel rail depressurizing. No worries there.
