Default Ongoing Cruise not available

Hi

Can anyone help, I have a 2001 x type 3.0 auto with 124k on the clock. I am getting a problem with cruise not available coming on even though it works but the car goes into limp home mode. It normally only comes on when I go on a motorway and goes back off when I slow down again. I have replaced the breather valve and hose last week, it did have a spilt in it as I thought this was causing the problem but it has returned. It flashes on and off a few times then stays on and I can not go over 3.5k revs.

Cheers

Search vacuum leaks, IMT o-rings, brake boost hose. You must be getting a Check Engine Light? Get the codes read and c'mon back.

Hi cheers

can you tell me what and where are the IMT o-rings and brake boost hose? You are right I have had the engine management light on but only once and it went back out after a couple of days. I had to pick friends up the other day it came on as soon as I hit the motorway at about 70mph and went back out as soon as I came of the motorway and stayed off

Thanks again

You really need to have the system interrogated to find the fault codes stored. I'd bet you have throttle faults of some kind in there, but it could be other systems affected. The faults stored will tell you what direction you need to go.

Search advanced with Dennisblack as the username, he has an ongoing project thread with diagrams of all the problematic vacuum leak areas.
