Default P0706, P1747 2002 X-type V6 3.0

Hello, I am needing a little advice/input and hopefully a resolution to a problem I've come about.. Anyways, my 2002 X-type with a V6 3.0 is throwing the codes P0706 (transmission range sensor) and P1747 (no clue on this code, have read different meanings), and of course this puts me in limp mode. I have another range sensor that I ordered off of ebay which eliminated the P0706 temporarily. I replaced the wiring look going into the transmission because many of those wires had been broken, cut, soldered, etc., so it needed to be done for many obvious reasons, but after replacing it is when I started getting the codes. I am 98% sure my gear cable needs adjusted, if not replaced, so my questions is, "what are the proper steps needed in order to adjust the cable?" Also, when I put the range sensor on before replacing the wiring harness going into the gearbox, I could get the marks on the sensor to line up, but now when I do get them lined up the car will not crank. After messing with it a while, the car would turn over just a bit, but never a full turnover which further leads me to thinking it needs adjusted. Any input or advice would be appreciated, and can someone please clarify what the code P1747 means, Thanks in advance..

For DTC P1747, have a look at this description:
