P1000 Is there any easy way?
Hi,
I am in the process of selling my 03 jaguar X-type 5 speed. It currently has the P1000 code on it and I don't think I am going to have any luck selling it with this code on it. From what I have read you have to drive it certain ways etc.. before it goes off. The only instructions I found was for an automatic. Does anyone know of an easy way to get this code off my car?
Someone said something about resetting the codes then turn it half way on wait for a while then crank car and it should give systems time to check. Well any help would be great.. Thank You..

Go over to autozone and just have them clear the code, I'm not sure off the top of my head what the code is but I think that is the code that should be there. Autozone will use there reader and that should clear it.
I have tried that many times, but from what I read P1000 is something that can't just be cleared it says something about your car has to run through all these tests and the only outlay I have found on this website was for an automatic not a 5 speed and it is a SH%$ ton of steps
anyone help!
anyone help!
I just did some checking, i had a thread up a month ago. On page 9 about three quarters down the page you'll see my thread. On there it says that there is still something wrong, you need to get p1111. P1000 it's trying to read the code w/something still wrong. I don't the the stick or auto has anything to do with it. what was the main code to begin with, what was wrong with it, was it fixed before it was cleared? If you didn't fix it I don't think it will clear that code. It you did fix it, I think after 4 rums it should clear.
nick- you are correct. The P1000 code means the system checks aren't complete since the last reset. It doesn't mean there is a problem. If a problem does exist then another code will be shown. I've seen the list of ways it has to be driven before all of the tests are complete and I feel your pain because I have the same issue. Let us know how you make out.
