Here are the other two options for the P1647 code.

The HO2 sensor 2/1 sensing circuit: short circuit to ground, short circuit to high voltage, open circuit.

ECM failure.

So far I have been unable to find the testing info in the JTIS. Hopefully someone else can help out.

Tony,

H/W is the answer from a tech as to checking the HO2 sensor.

As the O2 sensors have been changed, next step is to test the connection to the ECM (he should measure the wire impedance*), and if this is ok, then I'm afraid the ECM may have a problem, which is rare but happens some times...

*Don't know precisely the wire impedance, but there's no need to finely analyse the values: it's just to see if the signal can be distorted by a problem on the cable or if the cable is ok.
