Question Park Assist Faults

Hi, I have a late model X Type with front and rear park assist. I recently had the spare wheel well full of water issue many of you seem to have experienced which led to the Parking Assist light in the headliner staying lit. Fixed the water issue really ease, started using a different car wash! My local garage isolated the park assist to both the sounder and the control module which they replaced (£300!). The rear park then works but generates additional spurious warnings, the front assist does not function at all, no sounds and lights. The garage checked it over again and concluded the new control module was defective, would not program. They fitted a further new replacement at zero additional cost. They say all warning codes are now clear but the functionality (spurious rear nothing front) remains the same. They now say the fault is in the headliner switch panel, estimated cost £340! Has anyone experienced similar?
