Default Powersteering resivoir question

Hi,

Recently I had my power steering resivoir empty itself and nothice the surpentine belt was badly frayed. What would cause this to happen and how could I check?

Is it just the belt? Or is it the power steering pump?

I never noticed and power steering loss driving.

The power steering pump was in the passenger side between the rear of engine and fire wall the power steering hoses also back there, the serpentine belt and power steering pump pulley they all in the tight space, make it worse some sensors wire ran around there with sub frame and suspension got on the way, some thing could got loosed or the power steering pump's hoses and get against the belt they work against each others: the belt grind the hole in the hose, the hose frayed out the belt. You have to at least remove the wheel and the wheel well liner to see what happen.
