Default PROBLEM with my Jaguar x-type

Hi all, I have a 2004 jaguar x-type 3.0. Its an automatic has about 54000 miles. When its going 30mph it starts making this noise, like this whossing noise underneth the car or around there. I put the car in neutral when the car was still going, and the noise was still there so its not the transmission, anyone have any idea?

It's tough to say exactly since I can't hear the noise myself, but possible solutions may be a wheel bearing, or possible tire noise from worn tires. First, look at the tire tread for uneven wear. Even if the outside has alot of tread, look at the inside and see if it matches. If the wear is uneven, you have a suspension problem and at minimum need an alignment.

I know it is hard to figure out where it is coming from since you have to get up to 30mph before it happens... If you have the ability (have a jack and 4 jackstands), raise all 4 wheels off the ground and accellerate to 30mph to see if it happens. If it doesn't, you may be hearing wind noise. If it does, you should be able to at least tell what area it is coming from.

it could be your trans axle or drive shaft. If P,D,N,R all work properly then i would bet on the drive shaft being out of alignment or needing to be replaced. I guess its a common problem on these cars.
