Problems With Manually Opening My Trunk
I have 2002 X-Type, this afternoon I replace the battery in my remote and now I'm not able to open the trunk manually. The only way it opens is wit the trunk button on the remote. When I lock and unlock the doors I hear the clicking sound but not the trunk. Thanx for the help.

i had weird stuff happen with my trunk manually opening when i first bought the car....turned out to be a combination of a bad battery and me not knowing how to use the locking features.
Is it possible that your car is locked when you are trying to open the trunk anually?

also....i doubt it is connected, but my driver door lock had to be adjusted (common fault and easy fix) When the doors were unlocked, the driver door could not be opened from the outside. I thought it was a major problem...but the fix was really easy...thanks to the forum of course :+)
So after fixing the driver door lock...replacing the battery....realizing when various doors were locked or unlocked...the trunk would open manually...lol
