Default Re-connected battery and now car wont crank?

Hi Chaps.
I hope someone out there will be able to help me. I live in Malta and, like the UK we have been in "lockdown". Not being able to take the car out I disconnected te battery. To-day, now we are once more allowed to take our cars out again, I charged up the battery and re-connected.
But the engine will not crank. Everything works, all the warning lights come up, lights, horns, radio, etc etc work. But turn the key and nothing??

I believe this may be an immobiliser problem, as the small red light by the gear stick flashes when I try to start the car.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can sort this problem out??
A little more info on the car, its an early 2003 X Type, in immaculate condition with only 13,000 miles on the clock.
I'm pretty sure its not a battery problem.

Thanks chaps.

So, to continue the story. I had a reply from a chap in the UK, saying to see if the immobiliser light was flashing in a sequence. I went back down to my garage, and bearing in mind I had done nothing since when the car would not crank, I switched on the ignition, the light blinked once. I sat in the car for a minute or two expecting the light to blink in a sequence, but it didn't. So I turned the key to the start position and...…...the car started instantly??.
I turned the ignition off and on a few times and the car started instantly every time.
So I really do not know what was happening when the car would not crank and the immobiliser light was flashing. Perhaps, when the battery is disconnected for a while, the battery needs to be connected for a while to "charge" something up before the car will start ??

Anyway, a nice sunny day forecast for tomorrow so I will be giving the car its first run in around five months

Good news, I was going to ask the same question, if it had been an immobiliser fault the flash code would point you in the right direction.
