My passenger side rear bumper side marker has gone out in my 03 x-type. The red lens did not initially feel like it would just pop off for bulb replacement and I don't see an easy way to get to it from underneath.

Can anyone tell me how to change this bulb?

Wolv, take a flat bladed screw driver and put some tape over the end. Now, go out to the car and put the taped end against the flat side. Now, push sideways (towards the point of the light) about 1/4". From here, start pulling the screw driver straight out at you. This should allow the light to come towards you too. Once you get it out about 1/4" the hook tab should be clear and you can release everything. Then you can pull the light out. From there you can access the plug. A 1/4 turn and the bulb base will come out of the light housing.

Installing is simply sliding the hook under the bumper cover and then pushing the spring clip into place.

Awesome, thanks Thermo. I had a feeling it might pry off but wanted to be sure. I actually have a hard plastic prytool that I use to pry stuff like this for work.

 

Does anyone know where i can buy a new...or is it the same as the s-type because thats all i can seem to find online
