Have you replaced the battery in the remote?

Before you go off the deep end buying keys and remotes, answer this.
When you take the key out of the ignition, do you hear a ding ding ding? If so, look at the igntion tumbler where key goes in and see if the flap is closed. If not, put key back in and kind of jiggle it out to see if door closes. That flap has to be closed or vehicle thinks key is still in ignition, therefore diasbling the remote locking and also programming. Also try the headlamp button of trunk button. Do they work?
Also, when you are doing the remote programming - key on/off 4 times until chime - REMOVE KEY FROM IGNITION - press unlock on one then other.
If all this fails, replace remotes. Look here for replacements.

dEo_and_bigcatIf your problem is similar to what FactoryJaguarTech described then go to any electronics store and buy some electronic circuit cleaner and squirt some on all of your keys and wipe off with a cloth or cotton swab then squirt on key again and repeatedly insert they key into and out of the ignition. Now do not get this confused withthe motion you may have used on highschool girls back in your day. Note: electronic cleaner is no substitute for lubrication... enjoy
