Default Replace Fan Control Module (2002, 2.5)

Hello forum members,

A question for anyone with experience replacing just the fan control module.

I purchased a replacement fan control module. I think it is the right module. I am looking at the workshop manual to determine how to replace the FCM, if I can replace this myself.

I am referencing this sections of the manual for guidance (attached).

Engine Cooling - 2.0L NA V6 - AJV6/2.5L NA V6 - AJV6/3.0L NA V6 - AJ27 - Cooling
Fan Module
- Removal and Installation

Is there other reference material (for a novice like me) to reference?

Thank you for any suggestions!

The only thing your write up doesn't show is that you will have to remove the battery and battery box. Once they are out of the way you will be able to see the controller, cables, mounting fasteners and connectors.

Everything is plug and play.

Here's a picture of the fan assembly out of the car. Fan control module is the silver box obviously. Detach the power cable at each fan then you can undo the cables from the guide tracks.
