Default Replacing passenger side latch

Hi All,

I am in the process of replacing my passenger side latch. I got the door panel put back on and the door handle/lock *** is over flush. I checked to make sure the latch cable going from the door to latch is installed correctly.

The only thing I can think of is that the cable needs to replaced. But I would not expect degradation of the cable over the life of the vehicle.

Any ideas?

Hmmmm I am having trouble understanding exactly what the problem is (well, the obvious: the handle doesn't open the door)...but could you give a clearer explanation of the issue? In any case, the cable itself is unlikely to be the problem - but the plastic piece on the cable is sometimes the culprit if the cable is not pulling the latch open.

Do you mean the lock/unlock knob is sticking out or the door handle itself is sticking out? Can you post a picture?
