RH to LH drive?

Can a right hand drive X-Type be transformed to a left handed one? Is it achievable? How much could it cost or it's a big pain and better just buy the left handed version? The reason I'm asking are the prices, which in the UK are quite lowish and affordable. But I can't see myself driving a right hand drive car on the roads here. It's almost impossible to overtake another car.
I drive a RHD MK2 on the roads "over here", and overtaking by oneself can be an issue.
But I haven't experienced it.
Find a local wreck that is LHD, less engine, trans and diff would be best.
Bring your RHD unit over (not sure of importation issues on newer cars) and change it yourself.
Once you have the bits (dash, wiring under said dash, pedal boxes, brake lines, steering rack, e-brake assembly, visors, just part for part.
Take you, oh, six months to do it all if you work evenings and haven't done it beofre, or a solid week if you have.
You'll need different PS hoses to reach the rack.
When you are done, you will have a car that cost you double, if you factor in hourly for your time.
