Default Scrrrratched rims!

Fell out with the wife last night.......big time.
Came home after picking up son from g/fs house. Where they stay there is a little chicane set up to reduce speed. Anyways, a guy sorta cut out in fron of her (allegedly) and she had to swerve to avoid him and hit the kerb instead (ALLEGEDLY!)
Anyway..there's a deep gash right into the rim ARRGGGHHHHH
Just spent over £200 to get them all refurbed like new.
It seems as fast as I can make the car look n run like new, she f**ks it up.........lol
Anyway.........seen someone had a rim repair kit a while ago and was thinkin of tryin this. Either that or its another rim refurb job.
Please let me know

Cheers

Jim

I have been refurbing mine one at a time since buying akerbed Sport alloy at a Jag spares day.I aim to have them all finished later this month so will have a spare full size in the boot..If you have a spare full size wheel put it on.Rub/sand the damamged one.Put some filler in it.Rub/sand again. Finally sand with 500 or 800 grit. Then spray on a couple of coats of primer, lightly sand again and then a couple of coats of silver alloy wheel spray.Finish with a coat ortwo of lacquer to make them look as good as new.Cost including materials for all five wheels is around £35.Takes time but worth the effort.

PS Once refurbed treat them to a good coat of alloy wheel sealer to protect the wheels.
And give the calipers a coat of high temp paint and lacquertoo

I hate curb rash! I bought my X with 3 curbed rims fitted and a bent one in the trunk (long story). I had each one refinished and straightened as neccessary. X rims are soft as butter and bend very easily. Full price on straighten and refinish is about $160-$200 U.S.d each. 200 bones for refinishing 4 sounds pretty good to me.

I realize that. I was implying that approximately $100 U.S.d is a going price. Average price on a straighten and refinish on a painted rim from Alloy Wheel Specialists is about $160-$200. Machined or two tone, the price jumps. $100 is a lot cheaper than the $450 it costs to replace a 17" Sport rim.

My wife drove my car once when I purchased it and she probably wont drive it again! She has her car, covered in little dents and scratches and I have mine.

By the way Jim you know she made up the story about the guy pulling out on her. [sm=smiley21.gif]

I know JagStypeR..........I know.............she thinks I came up the bloody clyde in a banana boat[:@]
Aquill...........There's no way on gods green earth she's gonna be drivin the Audi..........over my dead body maybe........lol
Thanks for the info Buck, appreciate it mate and I will take it under advisement.......probably, though, as I dont ever seem to have any spare time it will be a trip to the rim refinishers and a cost of £100 as I'll get the other front one done at the same time.......there's a few minor issues with that one too[]
I really need to get it fixed and trade her in and get her a 10 year old vauxhall corsa......she really doesn't look after them and it really pisses me off.
We're only just talkin now!.......lol

Hey Jim than what are you complaining about? Put her in the jag or put her in the audi and let her know thats her car! When is looks like a$$ its her fault and to stay away from yours! Need to choose there buddy...you want the spotless audi or the used jag? Personally I'd stick with the jag but looks like we see which way you strayed!

Hey sonic here's the link...BTW it was 325 not 350 like i had said...+35 for shipping
