Service Contract to the X-Type's rescue
Well, more my pocketbook's rescue I suppose.
Purchased my 3.0 X-Type in early December knowing of the gremlin auto tranny, so I picked up a service contract for 3 years/36,000 miles.
Well did THAT ever pay off.
A/C was inop and the fix is to replace the compressor. The noise in cold weather is replacing a prop shaft. The noise coming from the brakes is fixed by replacing the brake booster. All covered under the contract.
The rear caliper sticking they are NOT covering since the caliper went bad due to corrosion around the piston. Oh well, in the big grand scheme of things that is not so bad.
All in all the service contract is more than paid for on one visit to the Jaguar dealer.
Sometimes these SC's get a bad rap when they do not cover something that seems like it should blatantly be covered. But for once a good rap for a SC.
