Looking for a good spot to find a live wire (+) to hook up to for a phone connection without taking everything apart on a 2004 X wagon, in the front either drivers side or passenger side, want one that is on when the key is on and off when key is off.

Anyone know the spot and wire colour to join to? the unit has less then an amp draw.

Hello Pantherman 2. Remove the ashtray(simple job) and splice into the power supply for the cigar lighter/accessory socket.

This is only live when the ignition is on. (on uk cars anyway) Not sure of wiring colours but it should be simple to work out when you have the ashtray out.
