Make sure the oil drain plug is tight! Also, this is common advice I give to my wife: Don't park all the way up until the tires hit the cement blocks on the floor at parking lots. All this does is make your oil pan hit it and it gets dented and often it'll make the oil pan and rod bearing hit each other causing serious problems under the hood. Also, the oil pan is held up by several bolts that believe it or not they can brake! Hit the oil pan hard enough on something, and you'll have to tap a new hole to get the oil pan to seal again.

Not sure on X types but my MR2 Turbo had adjustable oil filled shockers and one was leaking causing it to fail the MOT.Next day I jet washed the leaking shocker took it for a quick spin and went back to the MOT centre where it passed...which was nice.

None of that engine stop leak crap works...and if it does, it's only a temp fix.....personaly i wouldn't use it because of the tight clearances in the lifter vally and variable timing system may get clogged.....causing you more $$$$$ problems in the long run.
